Python Job: Software Engineer

We need you to help us reach our Big Hairy Audacious Goal! By building really smart software we enable insurers worldwide to automatically detect insurance fraud and identify high risks. Our ultimate dream is that in 2025 the FRISS Score is the global trusted standard for honest insurance. We need great people to build great products!

Your mission as a Python Engineer

You will work with the team to design and build innovative products that will help insurance fraud investigators detect new types of fraud, and make them more effective at detecting previously unseen fraud scenarios.

If you look back after one year at FRISS, what did you achieve?

You have worked alongside your team mates to evolve and innovate FRISS products, helping insurance companies enhance their Fraud detection capabilities. You have implemented countless new features in the product, enhancing existing APIs and creating several new ones in the process. Through this work, you have demonstrated your capacity to tackle difficult engineering problems and created software that is a joy to build, run and use. You took initiative during stand-ups and you encouraged colleagues to get the best out of themselves.

What does this mean on a daily day basis?

• You have created excellent code, covered it with tests, reviewed and solved technical problems
• You have participated in stand-ups, sprint reviews and internal knowledge sharing

• You may have learned Dutch! (we offer free language courses for our employees)

What was the most complexed product that you developed in your life? Think about your role in this process and the influences of your team members. Was it a team effort? Was the product brand new or did you have to deal with legacy? In other words, how would you see yourself as a developer? Are you the one that likes to improve software in an innovative and functional way? Are you in for challenges like scalability, renewing old code and starting new changes to improve? Are you a team player who believes in working on an Agile way? Do you trust team members and like to share learnings? As part of Team Alpha, you'll join a team of 6 consisting of 3 other Python Engineers, a Front-End Engineer, a Test Professional and a Product Owner.

Who are you?

Someone who is up for a challenge, you have to be an entrepreneurial developer! With several years of experience working with Python and an affinity for data, you have worked with and have a good understanding of:

• Building robust Web applications in Python
• Covering your code with unit tests

Finally, it’s a nice touch if you have experience with at least one of:

• FastAPI and/or Django
• JavaScript
• VueJS
• ElasticSearch
• Bash
• Docker/Kubernetes
• Azure
